By accessing or using the Cana Dating service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years of age and a practicing Catholic to use the Service. By signing up, you affirm that you meet these requirements.
Cana Dating is an SMS-first Catholic matchmaking service. Our staff reviews profiles, facilitates introductions, and guides matches through structured communication stages. Core features are delivered via text message, with email used for supplementary notifications and updates.
Cana Dating communicates with you primarily through SMS text messages and email. By using the Service, you agree to receive these communications as described in Sections 7 and 8 below.
You have the right to pause your account at any time. Pausing your account removes you from the matching pool while preserving all of your data, so you can return whenever you are ready.
You may also request account deletion at any time through the account management page. Upon requesting deletion, a 30-day grace period begins. During this grace period you may cancel your deletion request and restore your account in full. After 30 days, all of your personal data is permanently removed from our systems and cannot be recovered.
We collect and store profile information, photos, survey responses, chat messages, match history, and Catholic preference data in order to provide the Service. This data is retained for as long as your account is active or paused.
When you request account deletion, a 30-day grace period begins. After that period expires, we permanently delete all of your personal data, including your profile, photos, chat messages, survey responses, match participation records, and preference data. This action is irreversible.
As part of the matching process, our staff may review your profile and preference information to ensure the quality and suitability of matches.
By providing your phone number and creating an account, you expressly consent to receive automated text messages from Cana Dating regarding your profile, matches, scheduling, and account status.
Message frequency varies based on your activity. Message and data rates may apply.
You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You may also text HELP for assistance.
Opting out of SMS communications will significantly affect your ability to use the Service, as core features including match notifications, scheduling, and account management are delivered via text message.
Transactional emails — including account status updates, match notifications, and scheduling confirmations — are sent as part of normal Service operation and are necessary for your use of the Service.
We may also send optional emails such as reminders and topic guides. You may opt out of these non-essential communications at any time.
You may opt out of non-essential email communications at any time. Transactional emails related to your account activity cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
You agree to provide truthful information in your profile and surveys. You agree to treat all other users and staff with respect. Cana Dating reserves the right to deactivate any account that violates these standards.
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Profile information is shared with potential matches only after staff review and mutual acceptance.
Cana Dating provides a matchmaking service and does not guarantee any particular outcome. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Cana Dating is not liable for any interactions between users.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
